Philosophy

I strive to provide quality child care that will enhance the well-being, education, cultural diversity, and development of the children through an effective partnership with families and the community.

I provide a positive, holistic, and physically safe environment in which children can discover, explore, and master new concepts and skills.  This is accomplished through play experiences and guided discovery.  I view children as active learners.  The experiences the children are exposed to will stimulate their curiosity, independence, self-esteem, self-discipline, encourage decision making capabilities, prosocial development, respect for themselves and others, physical activities that will develop fine and gross motor skills, and communication skills.

I believe in an emergent curriculum where activities and programming are based on child interest.  Programs and daily activities will be planned and provide children with the opportunity to learn and build upon age appropriate specific skills that are developmentally appropriate to your child.  Programming will promote children to develop emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively in an environment that fosters co-operation and a sense of responsibility.  Children learn and benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule and programming that is complimented with both active and quiet play.  The program strives to provide an atmosphere where children feel they are an important part of the group, experience pride in their accomplishments, and be able to demonstrate their feelings and needs through interaction and cooperation with peers and my family.
